Lake Eyre Overnight Adventure

Departing from Broken Hill Airport, we begin our journey over the striking red dunes of the Strzelecki Desert. Our first major highlight is Lake Frome, a vast salt lake east of the Flinders Ranges, where you’ll see incredible colours and natural salt patterns from the air. We then track across the Flinders Ranges on our way into Leigh Creek for fuel and a toilet break. Then we head toward the iconic Marree Man – one of the world’s largest geoglyphs, measuring 2.7 km in length. This remarkable figure is only visible from above, making it a true outback highlight. 

After viewing the Marree Man, we continue to the painted Hills then onto William Creek, where we land for a drink and Lunch at the historic William Creek Hotel — a real outback favourite and a chance to stretch your legs before continuing north. 

After lunch, we take off tracking across Lake Eyre, for a spectacular view of its immense scale and ever-changing colours before we head to Marree for the evening where we spend the afternoon/evening at the Historic Marree Hotel.

**Both lunch and dinner are included as part of your experience. 

The next morning, we depart Marree, tracking south through the flinders ranges and to Wilpena Pound, the natural amphitheatre formed over millions of years, on our return to Broken Hill.
